Crete hosting European Polymer Congress

The European Polymer Congress takes place in Heraklion from June 9 - 14. Dr. Marcus Weth of Nanosurf is invited to speak on AFM within the EUSMI project.

The European Polymer Congress takes place in Heraklion from June 9 - 14. It is the main conference of the European Polymer Federation – EPF, which is an umbrella non-profit organization of almost all National Polymer Societies in Europe. EPF was established in 1986 with 16 European Countries as founding members whereas today it includes 24 full and 4 associate members. The first EPF meeting was organized in Lyon in 1986 whereas the European Polymer Congresses were established as a large scale event in 2001. Since then, the European Polymer Congress has become a major Biennial Congress attracting an ever growing participation.

EPF 2019 will bring together scientists working on macromolecular chemistry, physics of polymers and polymer materials, polymer surfaces-interfaces & thin films, polymeric nanostructured materials and nanocomposites, bio-based polymers and biocomposites, functional and smart materials, theory and simulations, modern applications of polymers, polymer reaction engineering, rheology and polymer processing, polymer characterization methods, etc. Moreover, special thematic symposia are being prepared as well as special symposia between Europe and overseas countries like Australia, Korea, China, India, Mexico South Africa. The program will include lectures by distinguished plenary, keynote and invited speakers from all over the World, contributed oral presentations by both senior and younger scientists and engineers as well as oral and poster presentations by young post-doctoral fellows, Ph.D. students and engineers working in industry. There will be an effort for the substantial participation of industry since it is our strong belief that the close collaboration between Universities, Research Centers and Industry is the key for technological advancement.
